Our workshops pair hand-woven cane panels and rattan seating with solid teak frames — a combination that stays light visually while the frame carries the structure. Cane is a natural material: weave tension, colour and binder-cane work vary by artisan, so we confirm sample panels before production on matched projects.

What is the difference between rattan and cane?
Rattan is the solid pole of the rattan palm, used for frames, seating and woven structural work; cane is the peeled outer skin of rattan, woven into the open mesh panels seen on cabinet fronts and chair backs. Both are natural materials with normal variation in colour and weave. For durability, the frame species and the weaving quality matter more than the name — check frame construction, binder cane and tension, and request sample panels for projects where appearance is specified.

Is cane furniture good for humid climates?
Yes when the frame is a durable hardwood such as teak — cane panels tolerate tropical humidity, and Thailand's own climate is the practical test. Keep cane dry and clean it gently; avoid sustained saturation.
Can rattan furniture be used outdoors?
Covered outdoor areas suit quality rattan work with UV-protective finish. Open weather is not recommended — natural cane and rattan fade and become brittle with constant rain and sun.
